Shutterfly Uploader for Photo Programs
Shutterfly has an uploader add-on/app that allows your existing photo editing programs to send your pictures to your Shutterfly account to be used in the Share Site. Follow the link below to download the add-on for Apple's iPhoto, Google's Picasa, and Adobe's Photoshop.
Upload iPads, iPhones, and iPod Touch Videos to Shutterfly
The iPad/iPhone apps will not let you upload video. Photos will work just fine. That must be done from a computer. Luckily, if you have video on an iOS device, such as an iPad, there is a way to get it your computer through iPhoto. This can be done even if it is not the computer that you sync your iPad/iPhone. It is very important that you do not let iTunes try to sync the iPad/iPhone. If iTunes opens, simply close the program.
On a Mac,
Plug the iPad/iPhone to your computer with its charging cable.
If the iPad/iPhone asks if it should trust that computer, the answer is TRUST.
If it does not launch, click iPhoto.
When iPhoto is ready, you will see the name of the iPad on the left. (It is treating the iPad like a digital camera at this point.)
Click the name of the iPad/iPhone to see the photos and videos.
Click on the video(s) to download from the iPad.
Click Download Selected.
Disconnect the iPad before unplugging by control-clicking on the iPad's name in the left column then clicking on "Unmount".
If there are more iPads, such as those on a mobile lab, repeat steps 1-8 for each.
The videos in iPhoto cannot be directly uploaded to Shutterfly with its uploader. The video will need to be exported out of iPhoto to another folder before Shutterfly's uploader on its site will work.
Click on the file to export.
Click the FILE menu and choose "Export".
In the export window, change the drop down menu for KIND to "Original".
Click EXPORT.
Choose a location on your computer and change the name, then click OK. The video can now be uploaded using the tool on Shutterfly's site. It will take a few minutes because it is changing the video to be viewable by computers other than Macs.
